Pennies for Ponies

FUNDRAISER

WHERE EVERY PENNY COUNTS

The Pennies for Ponys fundraiser is a wonderful concept that was started by Gena Sandli and Debbie Fox of the Princeton post office. Every Penny counts and adds up.

Please consider your pennies for the rescue. To date we have been able to buy three 1500 pound bales of hay for the rescue. Our goal is to be able to raise enough money to house a larger barn at the rescue. Which only means great things for many more horse in need!

If you are a merchant and would like a Pennies for Ponies Donation Jar for your store or shop, please contact me.

Let’s take this Canada wide, imagine the possibilities.

Horses were once a proud, hardworking animal, without whom our country could not have been built. Today they are companion and sport animals who still work hard to give us enormous enjoyment.  Unfortunately, a downturn in the economy has placed our horses in a precarious state. Inflated horse prices just a few years ago caused backyard breeders to produce more horses than we can sustain. Domestic horses are being turned “free” all across BC to fend for themselves, but they no longer have the knowledge to do this. Horses all over are being abandoned and neglected, they deserve our help.  The Horse Protection Society of BC, based in the Lower Mainland, and Outbackjacks Horse Rescue in Princeton are doing what they can to help horses in need, to educate the public about horse care and horse issues, and to find foster placements for horses that need immediate and/or temporary homes. Horses are costly to feed and care for, and programs are time consuming and also costly to develop. Help is needed to continue this work, to help those who have given so much to help us.
